Origin

Native of Mexico. Member of the Aster family and related to Chrysanthemum, Dahlias and sunflowers.

Flower Care

These have a vase life of 5 to 10 days. Remove any bottom leaves if present, recut stems and place into water with flower food.

General Info

The Zinnia was name after a professor of medicine in the 1700′s, Johann Gottfried Zinn.  In its native Mexico they were called “mal de ojos” which means ugly to the eye, other reports say this means so bright they hurt your eyes. They do come in a variety of colours from whites, pinks reds purples, yellows and greens.
