General Info

Calla Lilies were discovered in South Africa, but were relatively unknown until around the 1980′s when hybridising started. All though the most common colour is white they do come in a range of other colours ranging from a dark red through to bright yellows. The calla lily scientific name Zantedeschia was named for the Italian botanist Giovanni Zantedeschi when it was discovered that the genus of this needed to be changed, as it was neither a calla or a lily.
